Here are some of the fantastic fundraisers who have raised money for Vasculitis UK during over the years. Their efforts, and the donations made by their family and friends, will help us to meet our aims: to offer support and advice for those with vasculitis and their families – to raise awareness of vasculitis – to support and promote research into the causes and treatments of vasculitis. Many thanks to all concerned.
Augusta Eagleton competed in the Larkin Gowen Norwich Half marathon in November 2024.
She was diagnosed with GPA a few months after giving birth, in 2021.
She raised £2218 including Gift aid
Vicky Suggett has led fundraising for Vasculitis UK in memory of her daughter, Ellie. A family-and-friends group walked the 54 miles from Middlesbrough to Scarborough, raising over £11,000 and increasing awareness of Vasculitis. Liz Wilson took part in the South Coast Ultra Challenge 2024, on 7 September 2024. She was diagnosed with GPA in April 2024. She raised £618 including gift aid, through her Just Giving page
Her wife Dee-Dee Wilson also did the South Coast Ultra and raised £473.

Our Amazing Treasurer Heidi Pollard climbed Kilimanjaro in August 2024. She continues to raise money in memory of her sister Sarah Pierce. This time she raised £3396.
Rather than putting her feet up she then did the Great North Run a few weeks later and raised a further £578.

Littlehampton Golf Club have chosen to support and fundraise for Vasculitis UK for the year October 2023 – October 2024.
November 2023
Keith Prior recently successfully nominated Vasculitis UK to receive a charitable payment from his Masonic Lodge, Zetland Lodge, Guisborough. A cheque for £500 cheque was presented to Dan Hughes, from the North East Support Group, at their charity evening.

Fionn and Lewis have raised £550 running the Cardiff Half Marathon in memory of Fionn’s husband Maurice. Over £3,350 has now been raised in memory of Maurice.

Phoebe Leighton and her friends raised £185 doing a 6 mile Mud run, in memory of Debbie Gregson.
Neil Hayward completed the Manchester Marathon in April raising £584 for Vasculitis UK.

150 Miles in May by Rosa The dog! I am Rosa Eliza Whitesocks and I’m a dog! My Human mum has GPA Vasculitis and many times can’t take me out for walks. I will walk, run and swim 150 miles during May. I will do it for my Mum Zoi and all others suffering from Vasculitis. My mum says that living with vasculitis is a rollercoaster of life, but we have that at home. Vasculitis is part of my mum’s everyday life. By the way the lazy cat will not do anything! Rosa raised £540.
Bex Morgan and team rode 100 miles in May. They raised £705.

Helen Eleftheriou ran the London Marathon for Vasculitis UK in memory of her father, Paraskevas, who very sadly lost his life, in October 2021, to an extremely rare type of Vasculitis which affects the Central Nervous System. Helen raised an amazing £2,930.

The Des Winks Memorial Football Match raised £730 for Vasculitis UK – details here. The score finished 3-3 and with a penalty shootout to decide the winner which was Roscoes Bar FC by 5-3.At this year’s Winster Carnival in Derbyshore, Susan Mills, Susan’s sister Janice and friend Audrey held a craft and produce store and raised £70. All crafts and produce were donated by those who have vasculitis or related to someone who has vasculitis. Even John Mills made a brief appearance.

Jane Black completed the Manchester 10k in May 2022 and chose Vasculitis UK for her fundraiser because her husband Mark has developed the condition in the last two years. Jane raised £315 in the process – well done Jane!
Jemma Jones, stepfather Gary, and friend Maria completed the Essar Chester half on Sunday 15th May in memory of Jemma’s mum Steph and have raised £1430.

Annie Barton held a Christmas carvery with a few friends at Saxon hall and held a raffle for Vasculitis UK, raising £160Lucas Fox has been very busy fundraising for Vasculitis UK. Inspired by start-of-term discussions in his cub pack forum, Lucas set off on his own personal challenge to do some fundraising. He walked 1 million steps during October & raised £2,000 for Vasculitis UK as his chosen charity.

Anna Mayhew, Specialist Nurse at Addenbrookes Hospital, ran the Great North Run for VUK. Anna has raised over £683 to date.
William Larmour ran the Great North Run 2021 for VUK on behalf of his mum who has Vasculitis. Will has raised has raised an amazing £800.
Team Wood – Father and daughter Martin and Suzy Wood have raised over £1000 for VUK, taking part in the Great North Run 2021.
Annie Barton hosted a charity lunch on The Lady of lee Valley barge and raised £155 for Vasculitis UK

Ryan Ahern managed to complete his first Triathlon – on behalf of his mum Lynne, who has Vasculitis. Ryan has raised over £1k for VUK.Liam’s Blue and White Army have raised an amazing £4240 for VUK. Liam was diagnosed with EGPA Vasculitis in 2020 during the COVID19 pandemic.

Martine Ross’s wing walk, in memory of her mum who very sadly lost her life to Vasculitis, has raised an amazing £2,990 for Vasculitis UK.

Raju & Craig ran the Thetford Trials in memory of Valerie and to raise awareness of Vasculitis. Valerie didn’t receive a diagnosis of Vasculitis until it was too late. Craig and Raju have raised an amazing £1100.

Henry King ran the Ironman Bolton in memory of his dad, Gary, who lost his life to vasculitis in 1999. The Ironman is a 2.4 miles swim,112 miles bike ride and 26.2 miles run. Henry has raised an amazing £3,285.

Sarah Taylor writes: “Me and my mum did a virtual bake sale for our friends in November. We had people either coming round to the house (socially distanced, of course) to collect cake or we sent them in the post. After 2 days of baking and 8 batches of cake, we had raised £105 for Vasculitis UK!”

Cecily Redman’s live-streamed concert fundraiser for Vasculitis UK has raised over £1,000 to date. Cecily has an extremely rare type of Vasculitis called Takayasu Arteritis . The concert is available on Youtube
Sally Rawlins has been diagnosed with Vasculitis but completed the virtual Great North Run for Vasculitis UK. Sally said “It was a bit hot but I carry water as renal consultant always saying don’t get dehydrated! “
