The MELODY study by Imperial College and Nottingham University and part-funded by Vasculitis UK, has looked at COVID-19 antibodies, infection and hospitalisation in three immunosuppressed groups, including people with RAIRDs.
The results show that the chance of having a COVID-19 infection was reduced in people with COVID-19 antibodies compared to those without measurable antibodies, and that people with COVID-19 antibodies were much less likely to be hospitalised due to COVID-19 compared to those without measurable antibodies.
The team have produced a visual summary of the results and a two-page written summary. The full report has been published in The Lancet.
